The program for International Students
At Chongqing Technology &Business University (CTBU)
1. Application Prerequisite:
The applicants shall be non-Chinese citizens or overseas Chinese, with good health and aged16 and beyond.
2. Application Formalities:
(1) Applicants contact the International Cooperation &Exchange Office (ICEO) to obtain ¡°the Application Form of CTBU for International Students¡± by e-mail (wshch@ctbu.edu.cn). Come in person to submit or mail the completed application form and ¡°Physical Examination Record¡± to the ICEO. Undergraduate programs students should enclose the results of HSK(Chinese Proficiency Test) or one copy of the Certification issued by the middle school where applicants finished their courses in Chinese.
(2) The university runs spring semester and autumn semester. Applicants should submit the materials from September to December for the next spring semester and submit the materials from February to May for the winter semester.
(3) The ICEO will mail the ¡°Acceptance letter of Chongqing Technology &Business University¡± and ¡°Visa Application for Foreigners Wishing to Study in China¡±(JW202) to those who are qualified.
(4) Apply for ¡°X¡± or ¡°F¡± visa at the Chinese Embassy or Consulate with ¡°Acceptance letter of Chongqing Technology &Business University¡± and ¡°Visa Application for Foreigners Wishing to Study in China¡±(JW202). Applicants should register in International Cooperation &Exchange Office of CTBU at the required time of ¡°Acceptance Letter¡±.
3. Programs offered
(1)Non-degree programs
¢ÙElementary Program: Chinese Conversation, Basic Chinese, Listening, Oral-Chinese, Chinese Characters, Chinese Reading.
¢ÚIntermediate Program: Intermediate Chinese, Listening, Chinese Conversation, Chinese Writing, Chinese reading, Selected Reading from Chinese Press
¢ÛAdvanced Program: Advanced Chinese, Chinese Conversation, Listening, Chinese Writing, Translation, Selected Reading from Chinese Press, Survey of the Chinese Culture, Appreciation for the Famous Masterpiece of Chinese Literacy.
¢ÜShort-term Program: Chinese Conversation, Chinese Reading, Listening, Chinese Writing, Listening-Speaking, Introduction for Chinese Culture, Bayu Culture, Martial Art, Appreciation for Chinese Opera, Chinese Customs and other courses required by students.
(2) Degree Programs
CTBU now offers 49 undergraduate and 9 graduate programs across a breadth of disciplines, conferring bachelor's and master's degrees in many disciplines, including economics, management, arts, natural sciences, engineering, law and social sciences.
(3) Optional courses: Chinese Wushu(Martial Arts), Ba & Yu Culture, Chinese Business & Trade, Chinese Calligraphy, Chinese Operas, Chinese Paintings, Chinese Cuisines, Chinese History, Chinese Philosophy, Chinese Customs, Acupuncture, etc
4. Characteristics in teaching:
(1)On the basis of their Chinese proficiency, the participants are divided into elementary, intermediate and advanced classes, short-term classes and undergraduate classes.
(2)Chinese is taught in small classes of less than 10 students.
(3)According to the participants¡¯ requirement, special classes can be offered through consultation of both sides.
(4)According to the participants¡¯ requirement, lessons can be given in foreign languages.

8. Remarks
1. International students should pay their own expenses of telephone and power.
2. Food:
International students can have dinner in dining halls on campus or cook by themselves.
Cost: about£¤30 per day per person
3. Cost of textbooks and other fees:
International students will pay their costs of textbooks and other fees brought about by optional courses according to what courses they choose, and should pay their own expenses of medical care and other fees which are not included the syllabus.
4. If international students want to take optional courses, they should pay£¤800 per person per semester for one optional course.
5. International students should pay all the tuition fees and other fees involved in one week after the term begins.
The application fee and tuition fees are non-refundable.
